Long Island University is very expensive and getting your Master's Degree is more expensive. They do not have alot of social work teachers. If you are a social work major you will get a Bachelor of Arts degree which has nothing to do with social work. My social service job asked to see my degree. My supervisor said he thought my degree said Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Long Island University needs to change this. The degree needs to say Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree and it is hard for me to find a social work job. I did not know that I was going to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree. No one told me. Go to a school that will give you a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work which will make it easier to find a job. I moved to another state and I can not find a job with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I payed all that money for nothing just to get a Bachelor of Arts degree which is like having a liberal arts degree. |
