Some people will thrive here, I won't lie. But it isn't a place where you can get both the 'college experience' and a good college education. The activities are few, though they will claim otherwise. The food is atrocious on weekends. The administration (Dean Horton, I'm looking at you) is out to bleed you dry and crucify you to make an example. My dorm room had many broken features when I moved in, which nobody would fix. The police are swarming from wednesday to saturday night (be warned, they WILL tackle you whether or not they need to). The RA's aren't all sticklers but at least one on every floor is. The surrounding area is backwater consisting of trailer park meth labs, trees, and a walmart (which is technically not even in Radford). The diversity here is not worth commenting on. Basically, if you want to spend 4 years partying secluded from the real world while "working" on a degree that will be laughed at, enroll now. But don't say we never warned you… |
