I graduated from Argosy with a MA in Forensic Psychology. I completed my studies online. I would say this about Argosy, if you are not a self starter online education is not for you. If you need hand holding online education is not for you. The course work was challenging. I think my experience working in child welfare in supervisory positions with LPC, LCPC, LCSW, and PsyD helped me and my educational background in Criminal Justice (BA Criminal Justice). The classes were fast paced. I had a couple of friends who attended a well known college in New York renown for criminal justice and forensics and a well known school of psychology in Chicago. Our course work was somewhat similar. If you have no job experience in working in the field of psychology or criminal justice or no educational background in criminal justice or psychology you will be lost. Most of my classmates who complained and thought they were being defrauded were not prepared. The instructors at Argosy do not teach they critique your course work. Its really up to you to learn and teach your self. I did not feeel some classmates were prepared academically for a graduate program or had the educational or experience needed for a non-traditional education. If you can not write you will be lost. Ninety nine percent of the coursework and assignments are essay and papers. Many students were not able to write and demonstrate they had an understanding of the material covered. I will admit its expensive. Not sure if it is worth the money. However, for me, it was one of two schools in Chicago to offer Forensic Psychology. Of the two schools, Argosy walked me through the process and was friendly. I had my doubts but your education is what you make of it. I feel confident I can compete with others with a similar degree from another institutions. Since graduating, I received a raise on my current job. I posted my resume on a couple of websites and have received interests from employers bases on my education and education. These employers are within the forensic psychology field. I am on the right track and look forward to a prosperous new beginning. Please note that again I attended online. So my ratings of the university, its facilities and social interactive I rated C since there were no other alternatives.
