I applied to a lot of Colleges and I was really looking for a school where I could balance school work and a social life easily and Marywood has definitely done that for me. I was really looking for a school where I could be on campus, focusing on my studies and hanging out with friends and not be bothered by parties, excessive noise or drunken idiots but still be able to go to parties and have fun on weekends. That's what first really drew me to this school was that all parties were away from the campus so there was no distractions or no wanting to go out when I needed to be studying. Another thing I really enjoy are the foods. I've stayed at other colleges and visited my friends, and Marywood by far has the best selection. Some kids like to say it sucks, but after having far worse I really appreciate what they try to do for us. There are usually 5 different entrees a night to choose from, all ranging from pasta to pizza to steak or Chinese/Mexican/Italian/Caribbean food. Plus soups, salads, ice creams, sandwich bar, bagels, cereal, and a lot of fountain drinks. If you are thinking about attending this school I would highly suggest doing an overnight with a current student. And please realize that this is not a huge party school. Do not come here with the expectation of going out every night and them complain when there are no parties. Well DUH, its not a party school. It's a University that gives you a good education. If you are someone that values partying over education…dont come here. But if you are someone that actually wants to learn but party sometimes, then this school would be a good place to apply! Oh and most of the people who don't like it here are generally commuter students who live at home still. All of my commuter friends hate it because they're not really experiencing college, its just the 13th grade for them. I suggest going away to college, its a MUCH better experience. Hope this helps some people :) |
