When looking at college possibilities, I sought an authentically Catholic Liberal Arts college where I did not have to be "nervous" about what was being taught by the professors (all members of the faculty vow to be faithful to the Magisterium). I was not disappointed by Christendom's faculty - they stay true to the teachings of the Church and often join the students at daily Mass setting a profound example.

I found the campus to be authentically Christ centered and it offered me many opportunities for friendships to be formed around Christ. With a small student body, Christendom is understandably not for everyone but for those who do choose to attend it is a wonderful, nurturing, rewarding community to be a part of for four years.

There are many offices and staff members that willingly help students - from providing information and research support outside the classroom (library), to work with career and job opportunities (career development and Mr. McFadden in Admissions/Alumni Affairs - he seriously is committed to complete customer service for both potential and current students!), student organizations and student internship opportunities. Though honestly the Office of Student Life could communicate more effectively with students, campus is 100% safe, well kept with a small budget and growing campus. There are students who choose not to abide by the regulatory conduct in place such as drinking on campus or who may seem to be at times more secular (cursing at times or listening to degrading music). Students who choose to go to Christendom and then fall back on their promise to abide by the student regulations are doing themselves a huge disservice by souring other students' experiences by promoting their illicit activities (i.e. on campus/underage drinking). Student Life who handles all student conduct has not been the swiftest nor strongest in handling student transgressions making it seem at times that Christendom is no different than any other school out there. What does set Christendom apart is that from the Office of the President to Athletics, from Admissions to the Library, is the deep, unchanging commitment to be the best Catholic college there can be - by striving to do their part in restoring all things in Christ. Even if there sometimes are things that students do that makes them no different than their counterparts at secular or name-only Catholic universities, they are still living in a place with a strong love of and commitment to Christ where their behavior is not condoned nor tolerated. Christendom is honest when it says you "breath Catholic" because Catholicism is so saturated into the campus, studies, student activities and of course spiritual life.
