The faculty at Bryn Mawr is approachable and friendly, and Deans and professors are willing to help you whenever you're struggling with something. I found that the students, however, were quite hostile towards males. The school was very diverse when it came to nationality, but the majority of students all had the same mindset. There was a lot of pressure to conform to this mindset: mainly that women are oppressed by the patriarchy in this country and that the male gender cannot be trusted. This created a lot of tension between Bryn Mawr girls and students from other colleges, and as a result not many men could be found on campus. I thought that this mindset was very unfair and prejudiced, but I could not find any other student who agreed with me. I was very disturbed by the hostility of the students and felt very unaccepted, so I transferred as soon as possible. |
