The rest of the grades, however, do reflect my perception of NAU's Public Administration program. It has been the worst academic experience of my life. The courses, readings and assignments are insipid, uninspiring and needlessly time-consuming. Every class I have seen with a PAS prefix requires the student to wade through a tangled mess of stale and irrelevant material, ambiguous directives, and broken hyperlinks, on a futile mission to decode a series of inane busy work assignments. To add to the insult, one must suffer the indignity of posting (regurgitating) the essence of this drivel on a discussion board . It appears many of the online PAS professors are adjunct faculty currently working in or retired from public sector jobs. It is now painfully clear to me why our public agencies are dysfunctional. I have always been an intellectually curious person, but this experience has effectively extinguished any desire to engage in further academic pursuits. I hope the damage is not permanent. |
