I went to Loma Linda for nursing. Was I the happiest while I was there? No, but I went there to get my degree and get a good job when I graduated and I have that now. It is a very Christian (Seventh Day Adventist) environment and sometimes I felt that they made us do a lot busy work that is not necessary. My job now is great in many ways, but the learning curve is very steep. In nursing school things can be very generalized. I can't really say how my nursing program compares to others as I haven't had any experience with other programs. I will say that I took out a lot of loans to go to this school and paying them back really sucks, but at least I make enough where I can pay back my loans and still have money for other things. The campus does not really have that "college" feel like other universities I have visited where it feels like your at this great summer camp for four years. There is a hospital there and other medical/health facilities. It is a place where many people go to actually work so it has kind of a subdued atmosphere, that and it is a conservative christian college. The campus is mostly just pretty ugly. They did do some renovations of the student caf which was much needed and they put up some new buildings so they are trying, but like i said before i wanted to get good steady job after I graduated and I do have that now so the school served it's purpose. Oh and they do pray pretty much with every class and every test you take. I liked that part. I read that another person thought it was a waste, but when your going through a very stressful program like nursing it can be comforting.
