I was very pleased with how my degree program had turned out. However, that was 2004! I told others about AMU for years how its a good institution. More and more as time passed by, I heard from many others, former students, former co-workers and peers, that AMU has not performed as a school of higher education for a while. The pressures of government and to make money has exhausted so many students to look elsewhere because the school's lack of caring for their #1 priority: The Students. The instructors have been making numerous errors regarding testing i.e. having students take a test/exam on material that was not part of the cirriculum (sometimes the exam is weeks ahead of the syllbus), that is very bad; how about student aid: The school will lose paperwork on students numerous times (how about every semester) making students fill out material that was already done twice only to complete the on-line form to be told that everything was lost or go to another page only to lose that information and then make the students miss their class dates due to AMU issues that are not being resolved; report school problems to staff/administrators only to fall on deaf ears-I made a report to AMU re: everything I was told as an alumni member and they ignored me; the AMU website constantly has error messages that boots students (constantly) off and redo their work; changing AMU policies that affect students, but either don't tell students or tell students when it's too late only for the student to lose grade points because the AMU's lackluster performance in communicating with their students. AMU has lost all it's appeal and I grade the school with a failing mark. It does seem that AMU is all about the money and not about their main source of income: the degree seeking students who could teach the administration a little of something called trust, character and integrity.
