I came in as an Education major and changed to Geology my second semester. The Geology program here is great. It's very small so you get lots of attention from the professors. We go on many field trips and get tons of field experience. As far as the liberal ed classes, some of them are annoying but they're interesting if you keep an open mind. When I was applying to St Rose I was a little concerned by the high acceptance rate, thinking that they let everybody in. I couldn't have been more wrong though—the students here are for the most part smart and focused… and those that aren't usually don't come back the second semester. Everybody here is so nice and the school is small enough that you always see people you know walking to class, but big enough that everybody doesn't know your business. I also recommend doing a Pathways program freshman year. There's a bunch you can choose from and it's a great way to meet people and learn your way around the school before the year starts. You also get to move in early, which is a huge plus. There's an Adventure one, an Art one, and a Community Service one. I have a really close group of friends from doing it and it's definitely the best decision I made (besides choosing to go to St. Rose)! |
