If you value yourself as someone who thinks differently from others, you will have a difficult time at TCU. There are very few places within TCU that accept you for being the slightest bit different. If you are looking to join the Greek life, then this is the perfect school for you, but if you aren't, stay far away. Be prepared to meet people whose parents make more money than your's could ever dream of. I can honestly say I have never met such self-absorbed, arrogant people in my entire life. When you walk on campus, you will be looked over and scrutinized for every little thing that is a bit different about you.

One thing I can say about TCU is that the academics here are excellent. I am challenged, but not overly so. The faculty are incredibly kind and eager to help you learn their material. Not to mention, there are so many internship and networking opportunities in Fort Worth; I myself had 2 internships while I was here. I have learned so much about life from my professors, and I can honestly say that I will have more contact with some of them than I will with my friends that I have made here (sad, I know). I think if it weren't for the academics at TCU, I would have transferred after my first semester. But I kept with it, and because of both my disdain for being at TCU and my pride in my academia, I am completing my undergraduate degree in exactly 3 years with minimal transfer credit from my high school.

I wish I would have come across this site when I was choosing which college I wanted to go to. Each comment on here holds at least a little bit of truth. If you think you can "handle" the negatives of TCU, and if you think the positives outweigh the negatives, then you will survive here.
