Coastal Carolina University is like the slut of the college world, it's an attractive place, super easy, and people use it to have fun before they settle down for any serious commitment.

With that being said, if you are not involved in a fraternity or a sorority there is an 80% chance you will transfer before graduating. Greek Life dominates the Coastal campus and it's really unfortunate because they're all a bunch of stuck up pricks. University Place legit looks like a luxury automobile dealership. Kids driving brand new BMW's, Camaro's, and Mercede's that their parents bought them, I even saw one kid driving a fucking Ferrari…no joke.

If you're from the north or more specifically Massachusetts, like I am, and you have an accent or carry yourself as a northerner you will be judged as an asshole. Yes, there are a lot of hot girls down here but once they find out where you are from, forget about it. Even the girls I've met here from Mass are looking for a "southern gentlemen" and that to me means a rich, snobby, fuckin douchebag who expects you to do everything for them as if you were their parents. But that's not to say the girls aren't easy because they are, just go to Might As Well on a Thursday night. And just to set the record straight we're not assholes we are real with you but sometimes the truth comes out as arrogant to people who would rather talk shit behind your back instead of to your face.

The academics here at CCU are an absolute joke. My high school years were more challenging than this place is. My major is Marketing but half way through my first year I picked up an Economics double major because one was just too easy. It's common for students here to fall behind in their classes and develop poor grades and declining motivation due to utter boredom with the unchallenging school work. The social scene doesn't help this either, its easy to get caught up in cheap happy hours and unlimited amount of bars and clubs.

School spirit does not exist here which is unfortunate because the baseball team is really good and all that anyone ever talks about. The football team is improving and just hired the former CEO of TD-Ameritrade which should help improve the business program as well as the football team. The food here sucks so don't expect to be fed well and the meal plan is an absolute scam. If you're a fan of the beach it's only 20 minutes down 501 if you can avoid the traffic, if not don't even bother with this place. Good luck and god bless America.
