I have mixed opinions on this school. I was a good student from a CT High School that went to college because I was being told to. I settled on the school because it would give me the least amount of loans to pay back, and the art program seemed decent. Freshmen students should not be reviewing on here. My first year here was horrendous, the dorms were absolutely disgusting, people were disrespectful and work orders never changed anything. I constantly had allergy issues because of the moldy rug they didn't replace until I moved out, and the social life was rough. Gen-ed wise, with the exception of a few wonderful teachers, professors really didn't take a chance to get to know you, didn't care either. I had one professor who barely spoke english, the class grade was based on a summary of the entire book which we were to reread, which I believe I was one of the only students to do actually do so, I went to every class and recieved a c-. I went to email my professor, to no avail (who as a college professor, cannot be reached by email?!) I finally got through to the dean who changed it to a b+ to just shut me up. I would not go to this school for any major other than what I did. Housing improves as you go, so suck it up as a freshman. The dell is a bit moldy but it was a fun year, that 15 minute walk sucks when it's miserable out so get excited for that. Apartments are awesome but maintence doesn't really ever fix anything unless you call them. Don't waste your time on work orders.

TO THE ART STUDENTS: The off campus building in New Bedford(Star Store) is beautiful. It is well run, full of really talented professors offering interesting classes. I've really loved my time there. Foundations are lots of hours but this is a great school for your money. Graphic Design majors will have lots of opportunities with wonderful teachers who do try to get to know them and offer so much to those willing to work. I've had classes taught by RISD teachers visiting for the semester, it's pretty awesome to say you're getting the same education as someone paying 20,000 more a year. Bruce Maddocks ran foundations and did me a huge favor getting me in on regional rate as an out of state, that is a man who really does care about students at this school. I rate this school terribly as a whole, but I'm glad I got my Graphic Design education here.
