First of all, I recommend H.S. students to have some sort of idea of the career path they want. Then, seriously research your options and make an educated decision. If you need help ask your guidance counselor, teacher you trust, parents, etc.

Second, this is a church of Christ affiliated school! They are going to have rules that adhere to their belief system If you don't like being given guidelines and limits, do not attend this school. I didn't mind the rules, most of the time they weren't things that I wanted to do anyways. And I never felt that the professors were judgemental, but I know the students are! I consider myself a "church of Christ" Christian, but i'm not sheltered like some of the others who attend are. Even I felt judged and looked down on by those students.

Now here is my biggest complaint about the university: the administrative staff is no better than the administrative staff than a public school. And that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but don't go expecting to be treated better than another school's staff might treat you , just because they are supposed to be Christians. I really view them as hypocrites, but they don't treat all students that way. There is a lot of favoritism within the administrative staff with regards to students. I wasn't a bad student, I didn't get in trouble, but I focused on studies and not the social aspect of the school. I still felt as though the staff didn't like me and wouldn't help me as much as I saw them help some of the other students, even though I really needed questions answered whenever it came to financial aid.

Having said all of that, most of my professors were amazing in every aspect and sometimes I still miss being in their classes, especially for discussions! I met some of the cleaning crew and they were super nice. Some of the IT staff was great. Those people are the only redeeming quality about the faculty and staff. The most negative aspect of the school are the administrative staff.

I also made some friends and met my husband at FHU. My time at FHU is more bittersweet than anything else. The good aspects just make me despise the negative aspects even more.
