No/invalid Email Address left I realize that I graduated from Northwestern a long time ago. However, some things never change. NWC continues to be a very conservative, religious college. Given that fact, I had a roommate who got pregnant, I had an RA who drank, and a couple of my friends got into trouble for smoking. I hated having room inspections every week. I hated going to chapel all the time. In fact, I got so sick of chapel, it took a long time until I went to church again. I made a couple of friends who are still my friends. The others I've not heard from again. Having to take so many Bible classes was a bit oppressive. I tried at one point to transfer to Bethel, but I had too many credits and it would have cost a fortune to do so. I have had friends' kids go to NWC recently. They seem to be happy with what is going on now. I would question spending so much money for some careers (like teaching). I can't imagine trying to pay school loans off and have all of the "normal" financial obligations on a teacher's salary. If you really, really like Bible classes and chapel, and NWC has your major, and you have plenty of money, go for it. Otherwise, I think I'd look into other options. Best Wishes! |
