Many of the negative comments that I have read here are universal complaints that I have read on many other college boards. SMC is a very special place, much like Notre Dame. You either get it, or you don't. If you don't feel it when you visit, then it may not be the right place for you. I knew little of SMC when I decided to attend back in the 80's. My home was more than 800 miles away and I did not know anyone. I very quickly met wonderful people from all across the US on both campuses—many I still consider dear friends to this day. The skills I learned at SMC have served me well through the years. I would love the same for my daughter, when she heads off to school. |
