I got into Pratt and a small elitist art college in DC. My mom warned me that no one would take care of me if I went to Pratt. That was the dealbreaker for me; I had to go to Pratt. Oh, if only at 17 years old could i have listened to my mother…

I was a reclusice and pensive a.k.a creative child. I kind of a kept to myself and did my thing in high school. If this sounds like you, dont go to Pratt, it will destroy your life.

Even if you are working 100+ hours a week for 4 years, you will never succeed. Simply, because there is no solid direction at Pratt. What Pratt teaches is on level with psycho tr?pic torture: layer upon layer of different direction/assignment. Few still teach strict programs (where you do the same thing over and over) , some who try and teach creativity (laughs) and many who have no idea what they are teaching but then take the failure of their class on students. Believe me, its not funny, its a horrible nightmare of hell with fire.

Secondly, if you are blessed with money and a lot of luck, you might live near campus. If you are supppper lucky, you might have just enough space to work in private . However, most likely, you will not be lucky ( remember this is not Disney world) . You will live farrrr from campus, or with a heroin addict who rapes you in the night and steals your stuff. You will lose all your sanity and dignity. But dont worry, Pratt has stream lined its academic program. So you are ready to navigate the unemployment office online.
