Statistical Analyzer:

I transferred to FAU after receiving my AA from Broward College. I have 2 terms left to complete, and I am overwhelmingly unsatisfied with my choice to attend this college. My day-to-day interactions in the classroom provide adequate training and knowledge that will be needed in my field of education. I have had a couple professors that absolutely challenged me and ensured that I was being given an opportunity to learn information relevant to my career.

The biggest problem here at FAU is that for the second year in a row, tuition has been raised to the maximum amount allowed by the federal government. It officially costs as much to attend FAU as it does a big-time university like FSU and UF. That is absolutely ridiculous because I can tell you, the quality is not there to justify that spike in cost. The school cites budget cuts for all of these raises in fees and tuition. I was unable to attend class during this summer term because FAU felt that their football stadium was worth more of the cost than offering an adequate number of summer classes.

In the end, I am stuck graduating in December which is not ideal for education majors. I have been less than impressed with FAU itself, and almost appalled at some of the choices made in terms of financial management at this college. It is a college first and foremost. The students having an opportunity to learn should be the number one priority, not a football field. And then to raise tuition again is overzealous and ridiculous. I wonder if the president and board members would be willing to take pay cuts year after year, because that is exactly what they are asking of THEIR already struggling college students.
