I really enjoyed being a student at UCF. The two things I enjoyed the most were the beauty of the campus and the resources available. The campus is huge, but feels close and comfortable. Concentric circles make it easy to get from place to place and having to walk everywhere makes it easier to develop a sense of community. Since UCF is such a large school the resources available are equally grand. If you can name a resource, UCF probably has it, or has had it for many years. If you?re a student at UCF, and you haven?t gone to Career Services, then you should get there ASAP if you want a job after you graduate. The class sizes are as large as you can imagine; one of my classes had a cap of over 1000 students. Don?t let the large class cap fool you, in my experiences the faculty honestly care about your learning and do their best to help you retain the information. My only real complaint was that not all the faculty seemed qualified to teach their particular fields. My Recruitment and Selection teacher had a background in sales and skipped a crucial chapter because it was ?a difficult concept.? This wasn?t the norm in my experience, but it did leave a sour taste in my mouth. The staff were generally helpful and, aside from the financial aid office (truly horrible), they responded quickly to any questions I had.Overall, I felt that UCF was a really great school for me. |
