A lot of it has to do with the student body, when you enter into a community college you should expect a friendly social environmental. Well it's a community college where people go take classes and go immediately home what do you expect. Overall my experience here has been mediocre, there is no student body or social life to speak of here. As to professors, I used ratemyprofessor a lot to help find professors that taught well and help prepare me for future courses, etc. That helped tremendously without choosing the right professors, I could not see how people can graduate on time or do well because a lot professors are plain terrible, from reviews, and first hand experiences (1st semester when I didn't pay too much attention to what professors I had) In all I recommend you don't care about the social life, the resources are there, ratemyprofessor, and you can choose great professors at nvcc at a great price. Do well, transfer out, let it be a small stepping stone where you had to pay the price. Either you did not do well in high school, international student coming to United States (not really a price), or you couldn't afford a 4 year university. Don't worry about the social life, there are other ways to enjoy your time in Northern Virginia, nvcc is not a real college don't expect a vibrant social environment. The education is what matters, I believe NVCC provides great resources at your hand. All you gotta do is work hard and transfer out. |
