The college spends all their resources on making the campus nice, and training the tour guides well. Life at Champlain is nothing like they make it seem. My freshman year, I was housed in a dorm 10 minutes walking distance - this was OK by me, and it was not a hassle even in the winter. As the year progressed, incidents occurred, and were dealt with horribly. The RA for my dorm was repeatedly caught peering under students' doors, yet nothing was done about this. Later, the same RA's car had been vandalized by another student. This incident was blamed on the residents of the hall, and many were frequently pulled for meetings with Residential Life - taking time away from our studies. This RA had numerous complaints from the residents, yet due to the said event, he was given RA of the year. Nice Champlain. This year, 2 of the Area Directors for the school have left, and they are struggling to keep the school together. If there is anything you should ever do in life, it should be to avoid Champlain College at all costs. |
