Macomb is your typical college town, 80%-90% of the towns population is college kids. There are some families that live around the area, but they are few and far between. There are plenty of places to eat, a bowling alley on campus, a movie theater and any kind of bar you can ask for. For the city folk, there is a "club" type bar, a beer garden, happy hour specials, and martini bar. As for the actual college, it is a small college, most of the building are within walking distance of the dorms, there is a quad area to hang out. I graduated about 4.5 years ago, but i'm sure that not much has changed. The staff is hit or miss. Being a hospitality major, the staff in my department was extremely helpful and had a lot of real life experience in hotels/restaurants. The business department is where I heard from friends the departmental staff was very condescending to students who just wanted to learn. The social life on campus is great! They have great inter-mural programs as well as other activities. People are always looking for new friends, you are not just stuck with a certain group of people. you will have a core group of friends, but you won't ever be turned away from an open house party, even if you dont' know anyone there. Overall i'd give it a 7.5/10. |
