If you are a woman or a man who believes in women's equality and are interested in the computer science department, I would strongly advise you to go elsewhere.

The chair of the department puts on airs about trying to be woman-inclusive, but is sadly misogynistic and homophobic. After speaking with him about an instructor who singled me out for being the only woman in his class, the chair of the department brushed aside my concerns.

The overall tone of the department is that of a bunch of rowdy boys. There is no classroom management, and most of the students are there because they want to make money. I have sat in class after class where several students openly played video games and had complete disregard for the instructor.

As a woman, there will be no support for you. The chair doesnt care about you, and will throw the responsibility of recruiting more women to the few women instructors.

The level of student here is very low. If you are serious about your education and do not want to deal with blatant misogyny and a bunch of men who would rather make stupid jokes than hold an intelligent conversation, please do not go to WIT.

Do not let their website and all of their claims to being a great school fool you. You deserve a much better environment.
