There are MANY that just don't need to be there. Too many out of work public school teacher with masters and some that have just been there way to long. If you are a naturally good student and know how to play the game, you'll be fine. But if you need actual help - not just on an occational assignment - this is not the place to be. This is a communtor college with dorms and from the accademic stand point - you will be just another number. The instructors in the gen ed classes are not always good. You have to play their game and it's often all about them. Seriously consider a GOOD community college to get through the gen ed courses before you transfer. Since the Regents Writing Exam is gone KSU has made a HUGE change in the ENG courses. They are meant to weed out the average student. Why go where you will not do well, when you can attend somewhere else and not have to go through hell just to pass a Freshman english class.KSU is growing fast. I've heard that want to be the next UGA. KSU is a lot of fluff. The costs have sky rocketed in the last few years. Even the non-resident students have to buy the food plan which is priced way too high. My sister graduated in 2009 and looking back at her experiences compaired to mine, this is a far different school. Think twice before making this your first choice. |
