If you are not a devote Mormon then DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I have lived in the area for a many years and so I knew the college was primarily Mormon but if you come from out of state then you do not know this. You can be an outcast if you do not attend all the religious activities ON campus. Most of the staff are not here to help you but to just put you off or tell you that its not their job. The tutoring center is staffed only by students, no special requirements to be a tutor, so not much help if you are an upper level student. The people in financial aid are horrible and really do not seem to care about the student and often give the incorrect advice! Our area pretty much rolls up the sidewalks at 9 pm so there is nothing for the students to do and boredom sets in really quickly. Students have to travel an hour and go to Nevada to go to a night club. Campus activities are only during the day and are mostly geared toward people of the Mormon faith. There are some really good professors at the school but you have to really choose carefully. The math department is really lacking in good professors. You CAN NOT even get a degree in Chemistry at the college yet all the classes for the degree are offered!!!! |
