But if you you start school 21+ and live off campus you will have a hard time getting with the "campus life." I had started going after serving in the military and the faculty are very helpful in making sure everything goes well. But the lack of diversity in the students and how closeminded some are is unfortunate. The longer I stayed the more I would hear students talking about drinking and doing drugs. Some of the students come from a very good background and seem to lack the understanding that others are not so fortunate. I have met some very smart individuals and people who want to succeed. If you are a bit older and have seen the world I would recommend finding a college with a bit more diversity so it would be easier to relate. But otherwise the academics are great and the professors are extremely helpful. If you are a veteran, there are no veteran organizations and no programs to help you transition (I had just came back from deployment)- if they are going to offer veteran benefits they should have some organization to help us transition with college life. |
