I am currently a 2nd semester freshman, and I got through all my courses with decent grades. The only thing I had trouble with were the exams. However, I wasn't ever a really good test taker. On the other hand, I have seen students that have been excellent test takers in the past get horrible grades on exams, while those who used to struggle thrive through the course. That is most likely a similar trend at other universities too.

I had a great first semester. Salisbury offers so many intramural programs, it's a bit mind boggling. I plan on rushing a fraternity in this up coming semester. Sporting events are cool to go to, even though there is no real student section (at least at football and soccer games. I expect more at the lax games in the spring though), nontheless, it's still a great time. The university also offers FREE fitness classes.

DORMS: My class was larger than normal, and since one of the towers is under renovation, some of us were lucky enough to stay in St. Martins hall, which is awesome. It's suite style, and there is so much room, especially if you choose to loft your bed. The RA's are really easy going, and as long as you don't do anything stupid and draw attention to yourself, you should be fine.

Pros: Great dorms, easy to socialize, intramural programs, extracurricular activities, great parties, great teachers(when they can speak straight english), great extra academic help, always something going on for people who like to party AND sober people alike. Theres soooo much more.

Neutral: lots of apartment parties that are usually good

Cons: I had a bad experience with being placed in an upper level biology course which didn't even apply for my major, as well as a math teacher who couldn't speak any english (I got an A in the course though)

OVERALL - keep an open mind, you're gonna be in college, and it's so much different than high school. My best advice is to stay involved with something to keep you busy. Sitting around is how you get lazy with classes.
