Orientation was a waste of my time, I didn't need to be paired with a bunch of Freshmen asking Orientation leaders about their sex lives as something I'd rather not experience again. The classes I ended up in were a joke, I was with a bunch of Freshmen where the expectations were so low, and then in another that was extremely intimidating with graduate students. Then there were study abroad opportunities, since Arcadia is so distinctly global, but that only applies if you're a freshman. Then when I went to move out of housing they send me on a wild goose chase to cancel my housing for the spring semester, oh it's on Blackboard's Resident's Life community, but you weren't a part of that community, then oh you're a transfer you can't do it online. The school is also ridiculously overprices $47,770 to live there for a year? There is never anything to do on campus if you live there, weekends are a ghost town, yeah you can get into Philly, but Arcadia doesn't have any discount programs with Septa or anything. It's like a 20 minute walk to the train station and then like 11 bucks for a round trip ticket, so nothing really cheap and close to do. And if you receive financial aid, you're in for a real treat trying to deal with them. It takes almost an entire semester to get your financial aid processed, and paying your tuition after scholarships and financial aid is a real treat. Trying to get help paying my fall bill was horrible, it was no one's job to help me, just send me in circles to someone else. One of my worst college experiences, glad I left! |
