I'm a pre-vet student and also a member of Army ROTC. Becker's provided me with amazing opportunities and chances to expand my horizon. We have lectures at least once a semester from people who work in our majors - wildlife experts, veterinarians in different fields, military people, game designers, programmers… The list goes on. Hearing from these people can help you decide where you'd like to be in the future. It's changed my mind on what I plan to do, for sure. On top of these speakers, you get amazing opportunities. Last year, I was invited to go to Haiti to help build a school. Becker's dedication to global citizenship is inspiring. I also love my professors. Each and every one of them is dedicated to helping you succeed. If you ever feel like you're overwhelmed, your professors sense it and they reach out. I've been given private tutoring sessions by my professors before an exam just so I wouldn't fail. We also have the collaborative learning center available for people to receive weekly tutoring sessions. We also have clubs dedicated to our success, like the pre-vet club. We have admissions reps from vet schools come to talk to us about their programs and requirements, how to beef up our resume so we're more likely to get accepted, and what to expect in vet school. The clubs also do other fun stuff, like field trips to animal shelters so we can all volunteer and play with dogs and cats. Honestly, I couldn't imagine being at any other college. The assistance Becker gives us educationally and the opportunities they expose us to are priceless, and I feel like I couldn't find them anywhere else. After all, how many other colleges have a pre-vet concentration and a vet clinic on site? |
