Belmont's bread and butter is attracting tons of people that will never make it in the music biz and promising them the moon. These people may land internships, but that will be it 99% of the time. I always joked that you could walk down music row and say,"hey, I'm a Belmont student looking for an internship" and people would smile and invite you in for coffee. Now go say,"I'm a Belmont grad looking for a job" and the door slams in your face. Hahaha. Lastly I will say that the "business degree" you earn is an accredited Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Just hope no employer outside of the biz asks to see your transcripts because your degree will instantly be criticized and deemed a joke. I have had many Belmont grad friends/Nashville washouts say that when their prospective employers found out their BA was from The Mike Curb College of Entertainment they were very skeptical. My advice…either get a degree in something worthy or scratch your way into the biz. I don't know enough about MTSU to recommend them but I had interns at Sony with me that went to school there…for A LOT LESS MONEY. Good luck! |
