I am sure UM supporters will jump at the chance to label me the nerd, outcast, Northerner, and the like. On the contrary, I am a sociable, intelligent, well-spoken, well-traveled, attractive female, and I can say in perfect honesty that Ole Miss offers nothing for me. I have wasted thousands in out-of-state tuition to come here for a prestigious program, and indeed, it has been challenging and worth my effort. But every other aspect of this school is draining and mind-numbing. There are no interesting people. I am sick of the lack of individuality. Ole Miss is the poster child for groupthink. I am sick of the herds of sorority girls with bleached hair and ill-fitting clothes who tell me about how difficult their hospitality management major is and how much they want to study abroad in France or Italy on Daddy's money. I am not a bitter or angry person, nor have I ever been, but Ole Miss has turned me into the most cynical person. No one here has anything interesting or provocative to say, most people here will aspire to nothing. Ole Miss is an expensive extended version of high school, and a complete waste of time. |
