The courses that are half online and half in class are a joke. They are excuses for the teachers not to have to teach. Class work, testing, and even what is presented in class is 'for dummies'; you are never challenged past 7th grade grammar school education. Yes, indeed. If you take a course that is totally online, don't expect actual instructional help when it's needed. Most of the time, since the coursework is so easy, you won't need any help; but in the 3 years that I took classes I needed help several times and I was refused this help. The teachers who teach online are also teaching 10 other online courses at once, so even if you are adamant about needing help, they will just drop your need for help without considering how it will hurt your grade. One of them also unfairly graded or at least, did't understand how to grade.I once took a quickbooks course in a lab, and assumed we would actually be taught because there was a teacher present. He never did teach us. He was just there to pick up our coursework, and told us so, and said we didn't even have to show up. I contested this with the higher-ups and wanted my money back, but in the end I stayed in the class because they said 'he was an excellent teacher'; well, he may have been nice but he never actually taught he just sat behind his desk without speaking anything every class. This is just 15% of my complaints for this school, if that, I guarantee it. |
