I am a 30year single mother of one, working part time, attending SDC nursing program full time. Once this semester is over I am withdrawing from this school. The college itself is a little unorganized but its not that bad. The problem comes when you actually reach the nursing program; their staff is rude, inconsiderate, arrogant, unhelpful, liars, and most of all their are not compassionate about their work as advisors and teachers. None of them take responsibility for any of their shortcomings, the finger will always be pointed at you in the end. They do not take your concerns seriously at all. They are all family and/or friends in that department for the most part so if the Dean or one of your instructors may not really like you, it will be like its contagious. The Deans' mother and brother is teachers there, the assistant dean is bff from way back with the a head professor, etc. I would not recommend no one to come to this nursing program at least until its revised completely. Based on FAFSA, SDC passing rate is now 27%, which is sad. I dont even feel the new professors dont even teach you the right way and I dont feel like they prepare you for the NCLEX. I am now at 15k in debt with loans for the nursing program alone so this will be my last semester there; I refuse to put another penny into this college. I hope I have helped someone even if its just one person.
