Clark University absolutely changed my life, and I would not be where I am today without the education that I received at this institution.

As a first year, I was overwhelmed by college, and by the city of Worcester. Many other posters have remarked on the quality of the city. However, spending four years at Clark made me fall in love with Worcester, and I spent another three years living here by choice, before I bought a house directly outside the city. There is a wealth of things to do and places to see in Worcester, if you know how to look. Worcester take some effort to discover, but if you spend enough time, the city is definitely worth it.

I found the courses and professors at Clark rigorous, and experts in their field. I was totally prepared for either a research career or a teaching career in Biology. Additionally, the academic climate at Clark pushed me to take a minor in International Development and Social change. These courses added a new perspective to my science studies that I would not have been able to receive at a more technical school. Having a liberal arts background has helped, not hurt, my knowledge of the sciences.

Clark additionally had many social opportunities. I found that the school was small enough that I wasn't stuck in one social "clique." I was able to be an athlete and row on the crew team, play French Horn in the concert band with a diverse group of students, and give back to my college by volunteering peer sexual-education. Many of these opportunities would be unavailable at other schools, considering I was a walk on athlete and a non-music major.

Please consider Clark University.
