Let's start out with the social life. The students here are extremely rude and snotty. They are a type of un-describle weird when it comes to being social with others. They form their cliques at the beginning of the year and once they are formed it is impossible to become friends with them. They judge you and look down upon you if you do anything out of the ordinary or anything that they don't accept. They all come from very sheltered homes, have not experienced any real problems, and make a big deal out of the smallest things. As for the weekends, if you want to sit around a closet-sized dorm room packed with 20 people and drink keystone ice then walk to a shitty party 15 minutes away that most likely doesn't even exist, then John Carroll is the perfect place for you! You'll have more fun going home every weekend then staying at John Carroll, trust me. As for academics, I had three out of five extremely arrogant professors. They bragged about their money, material things, and theirhot wives and smart childrenthe entire class. One of my professors could barely even speak english. I got a D in her class because I couldn't understand half the stuff she said. How could they hire someone who can barely speak english? I taught myself more than the professors taught me. I was unable to form any great relationships with my professors because of their lack of interest in our lives and our education.Last, the cafeteria food is un-edible. They have one cafeteria for the entire school that serves the same exact barely cooked food every single day for breakfast lunch and dinner. Absolutely no variety at all. It gets old very fast and if you want to get food elsewhere, then you have to go to the inn-between which serves a bunch of fried food that isn't much better for around $10. It gets expensive. Also, there's absolutely no where to get coffee on campus on weekends in the day time. Einstein's is only open on weekdays, and "The Cubby" opens at 6-midnight. Like who opens a coffee place from 6 to midnight? The common sense behind this school is almost non-existant.Overall, I had a terrible experience at this school. I did meet a handful of good people, but the majority were close-minded, stuck-up, and boring. I recommend attending this school if you are looking for 4 more years of "high school." |
