I established long-term friendships with fantastic people (both students and faculty) and gained the skills necessary to be successful after graduation. I'd high recommend Kenyon for anyone interested in studying the natural sciences. The faculty are enthusiastic about working with undergraduates and students have exceptional opportunities to participate in top-notch research that oftentimes get published in respected journals. This can open many doors for you. Social life can get a bit dreary due to the small student population, but everyone finds their niche and makes the best of it. There is definitely a drinking culture, but there are also many students who aren't into partying and do their own thing. The college does a pretty good job of organizing activities for its students and there are some really great club and intramural programs to get involved in. The Outdoor's Club and anything associated with the Horn Galley (student-run music center) are two particularly awesome groups. I loved my time at Kenyon and will always think positively about my time there. |
