I was an extremely bright student who decided to go to Truman strictly for the financial incentives it provided. I would STRONGLY urge everyone not to settle on Truman because it is cost efficient. You will have a horrible time. You will find yourself overly-stimulated by classes, coursework, and extracurriculars that get shoved down your throat to distract you from the fact that youre in the middle of nowhere. It will not provide you with the college experience everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy.Do not allow the schools reputation or the seeming abundance of extracurriculars sway your vote. You are a cog in a machine, but the school is excellent at trying to convince you youre not. I suppose it is good practice for all those going into the corporate world…If you absolutely need a degree, need it for cheap, and dont mind wasting 4 years of your life then Truman will suffice, but I urge everyone to strive for greater than this small campus plopped in the middle of Kirksville. |
