Statistical Analyzer:

I chose George Mason because 1) I was accepted into the Honors College, 2) I was offered more than one academic scholarship, and 3) it was very close to home (only 18 miles away!) and would therefore allow me to commute and cut my costs in half over the course of my college career.

That being said, I still very much like George Mason. I have only had one unsatisfactory professor, and it has a GREAT reputation in the D.C. area (employers love Mason grads)! However, if money hadn't been an issue and I had been a little braver about going far away from home, I probably would have chosen one of the other schools I was admitted to (like UVA or Tech) instead. George Mason is the #1 up & coming school… meaning it just isn't quite there yet. If you want to be a part of the growing, the innovating, the creating of new and exciting things at a school with 30,000+ students from all over the world (which is pretty awesome, and no I don't feel like it's THAT big), then by all means, come to Mason! But if you're looking for that traditional party hard all night and tailgate at football games all season long kind of college experience, you are better off choosing somewhere else. Good luck, and be sure to make the best of wherever you end up!
