I am currently a student at GGU completing my BAM (Bachelors in Management) with a human resources management concentration with hopes to graduate Spring 2014. I have been thoroughly pleased with the process here. I feel like aside from having great professional opportunities straight out of high school a part of the reason I took a 14 year hiatus from college was because I didnt feel like I was getting any real support from San Francisco State. Over the years I would take a class here and there in between changing my major 3 times. My boss was kind enough to pay for me to complete the HRM program at SFSU and upon completion I decided to enroll into GGU. Many of my teachers and classmates either attended GGU, teach there or plan to attend so I decided to look into it. The process went by so quickly and smooth. I was setup with the admissions counselor, Tiffany Creecy, who is the sweetest most pleasant person to work with. She literally held my hand virtually every step of the way. The financial aid team were great at finding I was eligible for a grant and I was all set to enroll. I like that they required new students to take the Gateway to Success course in the beginning which really helps to get you back in the swing of school, studying, writing papers and being a student again. That class was amazing in helping me to reflect and set solid goals and a road map to get results. I think that class is optional at other state universities, I think it should be a requirement to help get students on track with their goals. This is my 4th trimester at GGU and I feel so supported and equipped with resources and people to which I can contact with questions and concerns. The financial aid department is great at getting back to you timely, answering questions and giving you your refunds. I have no complaints! I have heard nothing but good things from people I have come in contact with who have had experience with this school. My boss has a masters from GGU and now I have motivated another colleague to enroll in grad school there as well. As a working professional the cybercampus classes and even the on campus classes work well with my already hectic schedule. The teachers are really flexible to your work life balance. My classmates tend to have similiar work life situations as me and so it makes for a nice connection and diverse environment. I am proud to be a student and will be even more proud to graduate next Spring.
