Look into this college well before attending. It is very religious, and is able to be because of it's private status. There is chapel on Thursdays (required to a certain degree) as well as a heavy religious presence. Many students (mostly sports recruits) claim to be unaware of this before enrolling. Also, get to know the town a bit before diving in. While there are many restaurants and a fair amount of shopping, but the town is not abundant in clubs, bars, etc (though house parties are very common and most times presented on a weekly basis through off-campus living students) Offers many ways to get involved with the school before enrollment to 'test the waters.' Offers high school seniors the opportunity to attend classes and stay in the dorms as well as tours whenever contacted. Classes are definitely harder than most universities in the state, so no matter what information says its not a good learning environment is false. After attending classes at other universities in state (such as LSU and tech) I would says that their classes are honestly a joke compared to how much you will learn here. |
