The facilities on campus have very limited hours. The cafeteria, the gym, the campus center, and the library are not open till the afternoon on the weekends and they all close early far too frequently. If you enjoy exercising late (after 8pm or 9pm) any day of the week, you are not able to. If you enjoy eating past 8pm, you cannot. If you enjoy studying past 7pm on Friday's or on Saturday in the library, you are not permitted to. The cafeteria also has a meal plan system that is very botched. You cannot use more than 3 meals in one day and no more than 2 meals a day on weekends (because the food venues on the Gannon campus are not open till at earliest 11:30am on weekends so you must not want to eat three times on weekends, right?) The people that attend this university are generally the kind of people that could not get into any other university, so they came to Gannon because of parental pressure. The health science major programs are great and if you attend the University only to attain a degree from one of these programs and you are not interested in anything else that goes along with college (meeting diverse, open minded people, experiencing new things, not fearing for your life if you walk off campus, being able to do normal things like exercising or studying at the library at all crazy hours) then this school is for you. If you attend this university you are severely limiting your development as a person but as long as you are just here for the degree (and only the degree) you are okay. Seek other options and only use this college as a means to your degree if you are unable to go anywhere else for certain reasons. |
