There will be many conflicting opinions. I personally love NJIT. A student in the honors college, and living on campus, we get to live in the newest dormitory addition they have on campus. The facilities are great—they have a new computer lab, new libraries, a new restaurant, a new convenience store and a new gym. At first, I dreaded going to NJIT, especially because of the things I read online about the school, however, I love it here! The people are friendly, NYC is a 20 minute train ride away, and it's also conveniently close to home if I ever want to visit my family again. This school is well known as a research institution, and there are many opportunities to take advantage of the resources on and near campus. The academics will vary. The upper level classes are definitely a lot harder than the lower level courses. Many people don't like it here because of a lack of social life, however, there are many events happening on campus; you just need to pay attention and you'll find things to do on campus. I just really love NJIT because I've made several close friends and the fact that it's a smaller school allows you to have a tighter feeling of community on campus. |
