I went to LHU 31 years ago and it was the ultimate college experience. There was always something to do for everyone. Most people stayed on campus on the weekends because the Frat Houses started parties on Thursday nights and went all weekend. And the bars were open, had DJs, and served everyone. The drinking laws weren't as strict then. Academically, the professors were knowledgeable and up-to-date one current research. The Psychology Department was very innovative in the counseling/therapy classes taught at the time, teaching Existential Psychology, the works of Jung, Rogers, Maslow, etc. I was well prepared for a career in counseling and for graduate school and could not have asked for a better undergraduate experience. I was exposed to a diverse population of people and new ideas both of which helped me to grow as a person. College is 10% academics and 90% social and you get out of it what you put into it. |
