Great college where most excel. It certainly has its whiners, but they're easy to avoid. Some people are really dissatisfied with their time here, but these people are not taking advantage of opportunities presented. Student involvement in extracurriculars is high among most students. When you're involved you're having a good time, so stay involved in something(s). College is what you make of it, but Grinnell certainly gives you everything you need to be fulfilled academically and socially. They always have academic talks by visiting lectures from evey field. If you want to start a new club or create your own major the only person holding you back is yourself. It is super easy to start a club; just go to student gov and present your idea and I don't think anything has ever been denied. There are drugs on campus if you want them, but I feel like a majority of people aren't doing drugs (besides caffine… and a lot of people drink on the weekends).People are socially akward and maybe not the best at following norms all the time, but are always more than polite. Advice: Avoid sociology majors. They're the worst. So preachy, obnoxious, and hypocritical. |
