I am going to (sadly) graduate with a "New Media Arts" "degree", whatever the hell that means (and quite honestly, I don't even think the ones that run this program knows what that means).

I'll just say that the whole "major" is a complete, and utter, joke. It was already a waste of time with the old regime, and it's not that much better with the new one. Most, if not all, of the classes are nothing more than busy work, with each "professor" doing nothing while you waste your money on "theory" classes. There are no classes of any actual substance.

If you think that by going to this school, for this major, is going to give you the experience to be a good; Designer, Animator, Modeler, or any USEFUL trade, good luck with that.

There are NO ACTUAL: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or Flash, classes. Unless if going to a "class" and be forced to pay $35 for Lynda classes by the supposed "teacher" counts as a class. In which case, I can just as well teach myself and forego paying $3,000-$7,500 a semester. There are, likewise, no 3D modeling/animation classes.

This is a major that might as well call itself Liberal Arts, merge with KSU's program, and do away with this "wolf in sheep's clothing" idea of being anything else other than a waste of; time, money, and energy. If this isn't a tell-tell sign of how mismatched this major is to this school, if you think this school is going to assist you in getting a job outside of student aid, you are going to be sorely disappointed. For instance, a recent Job Fair for this school had 96 employers, out of the 96, only 8 had job openings that a "New Media" student could get, out of those 8, only 2 were ACTUAL New Media jobs. Oh, by the way, feel free to ask "Student Services" for the number of actual New Media graduates are employed. Then ask them the average salary, and see how quick you get no answers (or get a smarmy response).

Truth be told, the Technical Communications major is more useful than this one. And to be honest, me and people I know, either have; Minors, or Duel-Majors, in USEFUL degree paths (me in CSE/Game Design, others I know in CSE/IT).

As in other words; AVOID THIS MAJOR. It's useless, you'll piss away so much time, and energy, getting a "degree" that's about as useful as toilet paper.
