Here is what you actually need to know before coming here. The academics here are actually pretty good and what ever people tell you Mason has a relatively good reputation however the poor social seen is true. If you want to party a lot in college Mason is not your best choice. There are some good parties but if you are a guy you have to go Greek. I cannot stress this enough! Not that Mason's greek like is good my any means but still. We don't have a greek row like most colleges because Fairfax is not a college town so the frat parties are all off campus which makes it impossible to get in with out knowing someone in the frat which can be hard. If you're an athlete there are athlete parties but I have not been to any, heard they're kinda good though. My advice is if you are looking for a crazy college experience where you get wasted and laid every weekend this is not your school. Also don't come here because its near DC. The school tries to promote this a bunch but in reality it costs at least $10 round trip and you have to take the metro which takes like an hour. The Basketball team is fun to watch but it gets old(Way over hyped). If you are serious about coming here and you don't want to stay in your dorm all day and on the weekends do a sport, a club sport, or go greek not much else. |
