I give this school a B. Not an A+ OR anything below a C because while the curriculum is intensive and driven, the rest of the body lags behind like a dead beat horse. Much of the problem i have seen with adventist "education" is that since they do little to expose what you call "academy kids" (which is the majority of the school) to the "outside world", they usually come out with either blinkers on their eyes or a low self esteem. A lack of introspection and open mindedness can make it difficult to approach students. And while its named a liberal arts school, the school spends more time on "correcting" itself on what that exactly means than investing in outlets for academia and exposure to broader experiences. You have to take into account though, that religious institutions, since they are self funded, run a budget. And that budget is tight. Unless your really good friends with professors and are well aligned to someones perspective, you really have to go out and find connections/build a repertoire for yourself outside of this community. |
