I went to Flagler last year and was pretty disappointed. However the location was amazing, I loved the city of St. Augustine and plan on going back to visit soon. I expected to be able to go to the beach very often and pick up surfing or other hobbies but if you don't have a car it is very difficult to get to the beach and it's hard to convince someone to take you. I brought a bike down with me but most important places are too far. The food at the dining hall was bad and they'll fight you off if you try to get in any other time. The weight room there was also really tiny and poorly ventilated. Almost everyone there had something wrong with them, lots of people with personality disorders or minor autism and a lot of people were not very intelligent at all. As a Christian, I was pretty disappointed with the community offered at the school. Lots of atheists and liberals, and even the Christian girls didn't want boyfriends. You're basically stuck with your own age group while you're there because all the older students live off campus. I like to go to parties but I don't drink much, and the gatherings I did go to were pretty lame - a lot of confident geeks in one place. The suite style dorms suck, my roommate completely ignored me and hung out with the guys next door constantly - which I've heard happens a lot. You have to clean your own bathrooms which also is disgusting. Lots of crazy homeless people on the streets, I was yelled at on several occasions by them and I felt like some of them were dangerous. No one there had any appreciation for class or a dignified lifestyle, girls weren't impressed if you dressed nice or acted like a gentleman - which I was raised to do. Even the attractive girls dated the weird ass skaters and surfers which I found very frustrating. Any way, it's a decent school but the people there were just too weird for me so I transferred. |
