Statistical Analyzer:

Great school to attend. Great professors. Students for the most part seem friendly enough and pretty intelligent. Not a school for those who just want to get by because classes are very challenging (the mandatory reading that I have to do probably adds up to a couple books a week). As well, look elsewhere for a party school. I find it a good thing that Marquette isn't one. Although, there is always a significant party population regardless of the school. I am not sure why people spend thousands of dollars in tuition just to party.
I am an out of state student from Atlanta. The School is pretty diverse. I have met people from all over, especially mid-west and northeast, but I have also met many from the west coast and international students as well.

As far as the city goes, you have to take the good and the bad. The good is that Marquette is close to everything. The city is very accessible by walking, biking, bus, and car. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, etc., and many in the Marquette neighborhood as well. However, I can't say that I have been out much so I am not sure what they are like once you actually get inside. When I am not doing schoolwork (which is pretty rare), I like to take runs by the lake, especially early in the early mornings when there are not very many people out.
The bad is that Marquette isn't in the safest neighborhood, but it is not terrible either. Just be cautious. The school constantly puts a lot of effort into safety. Most students get around fine, especially with groups.
