I transferred there from a community college and spent 2 1/2 years, 1/2 year was a full summer session, and completed a radio/tv major and a business minor. I felt like the time spent was a waste as after having graduated I found myself 5-10 years behind technology wise from what I was taught and what was currently being used in the department.

The department actually had a film chain! We're talking about the old system in which a 16/35mm film could be either aired on TV or more so transferred to a video tape. But I'm not sure if that even worked as no film could be found but instead we used the 35mm slide portion. That's right, the same type of slides when watching grandma's trip to the Grand Canyon.

Field equipment: A somewhat decent camera system but tied, and I mean tied by a cable to an older system A 3/4" videotape deck. Imagine dragging that around.

Jobs and post-grad support. The department didn't really help on that but then again neither did the university career center. The career center had no idea what my major was about as they only had a couple of binders of jobs, most of which were geared toward teaching jobs. But most were outdated/expired.

For me, it was a complete was of time and money as I never did find work in my major field. That's right, nothing and it has been almost 20 years since I graduated.
